Now everything’s ready and it’s time to add the colour. I would say that the difference between success and failure is finely balanced when it comes to painting the candles. It’s best compared to calligraphy – you have to know exactly how and where you plan to put the next brush stroke before you do it.

The way to paint the candles is developed by my artist husband. Before he became involved in giving them a touch of art work, I had made white candles typical of small producers. Over the years we have never come across anyone who matches the combination of artwork and colour in the way we have developed.
